and who support the purposes of Main Street Amherst, and to create a
strong membership base that actively participates in the exempt
activities of Main Street Amherst.

In addition to the tiered benefits, as a Supporter, you
are eligible for the items listed here and the
satisfaction of knowing you are helping to promote and
maintain an historic and economically vital downtown.
Liaison Work:
Main Street Amherst works with the City of Amherst,
Lorain County Commissioners, Business/Building Owners
and area Civic Groups to make sure the needs of our area
businesses are served.
Festivals and Special Events:
Main Street Amherst continues to foster new partnerships
with the area’s business community to help develop new
downtown promotions and festivals through event
sponsorship opportunities. Our special events continue
to attract new consumers to our area benefiting our
local shops, restaurants and businesses.
Event participation fees are waived for
Main Street Supporters when applicable
Regional Exposure:
In the Morning Journal Main Street Amherst tab four
times a year. Supporters gain valuable exposure
covering areas from Sandusky to Westlake.
Marketing:
We work to promote our downtown through logo recognition
representing the entire area, and a consistent image
campaign, we advertise through local television, radio
and print sources.
Free Design Assistance:
Building Design through a contract with Heritage Ohio
Inc. design assistance is available free of charge at
the State level. This service is conducted in our
community and should be coordinated through the Main
Street Director’s Office.
Resource Library:
Main Street Amherst offers educational and preservation
resources that are available to Supporters for loan.
Most Important: Supporters receive all the benefits of a
vibrant, business district, with increased property
values, full occupancy of buildings, access to grants
and special funds for building improvements within the
historic preservation district and a brighter future for
the community.
