Pride Day 2010

Main Street Amherst, along with the City of Amherst, hosted our annual “Pride Day” on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. – noon.  This event was held in conjunction with the countywide Pride Day sponsored by the Lorain County Commissioners.

Our next Pride Day will be May 14, 2011. Volunteers are needed for Pride Day each year to help with the clean-up along the downtown Amherst business district, Maude Neiding Park, the Old Spring, etc. Bring a broom, dustpan, clippers, and/or a rake. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Everyone is asked to call the Main Street Community Center, 255 Park Avenue to volunteer.

Main Street Amherst is a non-profit organization created by business owners and the City of Amherst to initially focus on revitalizing the historic downtown district by using the “Main Street” approach. The Main Street Amherst Program has five committees comprised of residents and business owners:

·         Design

·         Economic Restructuring

·         Heritage Tourism

·         Promotion

·         Organization

For more information or to sign up to volunteer, call 440-984-6709.
